Digital Painting Tutorial

I’ve finished the digital painting “Battle of the Last Alliance” recently. Here it is:

And here are some steps to show the process:

The first step is black and white sketch, then i gradually add details, giving more attention to the most important parts of the picture. When i finished the grayscale underpainting i added some special effects and made exposure correction. On this stage i decided to refine some parts of the painting, especially the helmets. Then i colored the painting using a new layer in color blending mode.
